Derek Ryan’s impressions after the music video

When I arrived in Rome for the Gods Plan video shoot, I really did not know what to expect.  I paused for thought when I reached my hotel, thinking, the day I sat down to write this song, I never dreamed it would lead me to my first visit to Italy.  Its a funny world! I took a walk around the city on my first day to absorb a little of the atmosphere and culture of the city.  I was very impressed.  Believe it or not, I found it very emotional recording a video for a song I had created myself, not only writing it, but singing it, playing guitar on it and producing.   You could call it ‘my baby’.  I believe in this song. I found it natural enough to perform to camera singing the song. However, I must admit, I did need direction when it came to acting.  Manuel, Francesco and of course my ‘bride’ daria and the crew made me feel  more comfortable about myself and as the day went on, I hope with their encouragment I reached the level of performance they were looking for. Again, there were moments through out the shooting where I had reflected on the fact that everyone was there to make a video for my song.  It was a great honour for me and did make me feel proud of my achievement. I would like to thank all of the crew for making my experience so enjoyable. I met some lovely people, I do need to brush up on my Italian however!!! I would particularly like to thank Manuel for organising everything, but more importantly capturing the essence of the song in the filming.  He listened to my thoughts on the song, the reasons for writing it, my emotions at the time and with a simplistic approach portrayed these feelings perfectly, enhancing the mood of the song with his imagery.

Thank you everyone and best of luck with all your endeavours.

To whom it may concern: casting in Rome for Derek Ryan’s music video

The screenplay is almost ready, the locations almost found, Derek is getting ready for his roman stay…But we are going to need A LOT of people. We came up with the following idea: a great wedding party in the open close to…I cannot say it yet…Only the lucky people who decide to take part will know. So, if you wish to be IN, click on the poster to find out the dates and write to videoclip.2010@googlemail.com

“God’s plan” by D. Ryan. Pre-production started. Actress needed.

We have started pre-production on the song “God’s plan”  by Derek Ryan. Derek is an  extremely ( I want to repeat it: extremely ) talented irish artist  and the entire team is  proud  to produce his first music video. We believe this  song  is  a little masterpiece. Here’s  an  excerpt from the  lyrics. As  you can clearly see  we are  now casting a girl  with blue  eyes  and blond hair  who is  going to play the  role of a young  bride. The  shooting will take place the  first week of  May in the quaint town of Viterbo.

I knew when I met you, you would be my wife

I felt like i’d known you everyday of my life

your blue eyes saw right to my wandering soul

and guided me all the way home

“Beside you” ready. Acknowledgements

The first music video of our pilot project is ready. We already had an amazing wrap up party but I want to officially thank all the most relevant people who made this video possible! First and foremost I would like to warmly thank producer M.R. who believed in this project from the beginning and allowed us to produce this classic. Mario Maneri, the brilliant composer/performer (we made it Mario!),  actors Giulia Perelli and Gianmarco Tavani (resting on the Circeo beach in the picture below). Thank you guys: Giulia, you have been really generous during the entire shooting, extraordinary, I won’t forget it. 😉  Gianmarco, well… you have been a surprise for all of us. Thanks also to Valentina Chisci for her supporting role. Thank you all for your friendship. It’s been a blast! Then, thanks a lot to my assistant director Francesca Bellucci, (there is no kinship with the famous Monica) she took a budget production to a higher level, spending brilliantly all the money at our disposal. Thanks to my set designer Louise Unger for her sensational assistance in the interiors. Thanks to DP Francesco Ciccone who jumped on board in a very sporty manner. Very Special Thanks also to Pia de Solenni: Pia you provided me with some very interesting cultural advices that improved this work; to Megan Donley, for the time you gave us in the preproduction phase helping out with the first draft of this song; to Laura Montorio, Valerio Paolini, Enrico Nofri, for their friendly guidance through the screenwriting process. Last but not least,  Alexander Stolberg…whose merciless tips are always valuable. Well, this is all for now. As you know the three music videos are going to be released at the same time, so for the time being, keep the link secret! 😉 Have a great day, Manuel de Teffé

Actress found: Giulia Perelli

I am happy to announce that we have found the actress for our first music video.

Her name is Giulia Perelli, she’s 24 and comes from Lucca.

“Beside you” music video preproduction started: actress needed.

I just started the preproduction of a music video based on a song by Mario Maneri. The screenplay is ready and we are now looking for the right actress to play the main role.

An “international face” is needed. We want to shoot it in Europe… despite this severe winter. So, as soon as we spot the right girl we are ready to roll.

Even though the producers made it low budget for a strategy I am going to explain “live”, it’s bound to have a rather big mediatic exposure.

The idea would be to shoot it in Rome. I would like to thank Jörg Kretzschmar for the technical help he gave me in this delicate phase.

So, to get to the gist: we need an actress, aged 19-26. I do not want to describe perfectly the kind of girl we are thinking of, since we have other 2 music videos in a row to shoot, people might as well be selected later on to fit some other role….

Step forward please, and send us resume and a picture at the following address:
