Manuel de Teffé, romano, è regista, sceneggiatore, scrittore, produttore esecutivo.
Ha studiato Scenografia all’Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma e si è diplomato come Regista cinematografico e televisivo al MIF di Angelo D’Alessandro e Regista di Cinema d’Animazione alla VLR Graphic Production di Luca Raffaelli e Vito Lo Russo. Inizia la sua carriera al Teatro Eliseo di Roma come aiuto regista di Rossella Falk e Michele Placido, e continua poi in televisione per LUXVIDE, per la quale dirigerà vari documentari prodotti dalla RAI. Nel 2003 Fonda la Shineout Productions, e sviluppa negli anni un vasto background come regista e sceneggiatore nel campo di pubblicità, documentari, video musicali e ideazione e produzione di campagne pubblicitarie per organizzazioni internazionali no profit. 
Chiusa questa parentesi, si è specializzo alla ALMED di Milano in produzioni per serie televisive per il mercato internazionale con Bobette Buster (Creative Pixar) e John Truby, e ha finalizzato il suo studio sulle nuove piattaforme televisive con i produttori HBO Ilene Kahn e Derek Power. Negli ultimi 8 anni lavora nel cinema con la New Land Films di Pablo Barroso nello sviluppo di storie per il cinema film come “For Greater Glory” (con Andy Garcia, Eva Longoria e Peter O’ Toole), per il quale realizza trattamenti e storyboard. Lavora inseguito con Madeleine, Metanoia, Film Kairos, Dominus Production, Carmel Communication, Camaleo. Nel cinema italiano è stato regista nelle seconde unità di “Ebola” e “Sconnessi” di Christian Marazziti per la Camaleo. Negli ultimi 3 anni è stato ideatore, direttore artistico di “Cecilia Music” e numerose iniziative editoriali per la francese Media e Partecipations (Gruppo Asterix). Attualmente sta lavorando con la Madeleine di Carlo Macchitella allo sviluppo di un film per il cinema per la sua regia, e con Delta Due Pictures per la trasposizione cinematografica de “La cena” di G. Manfridi. Manuel de Teffé è rappresentato da Andrea Quattrini per la Balthazar Management.
Manuel was born to an artistic family in Rome, Italy. His late mother was an avid painter and illustrator, his father, was the late Anthony Steffen, famed actor and hero of the Italian spaghetti western genre. Manuel first breathed cinematic air on the sets of his father’s films and absorbing these atmospheres he soon grew very fond of everything related to the cinema. At the young age of 15, he attended the First Italian Animation Academy, the glorious VLR Graphic Cartoons directed by Vito Lo Russo and Luca Raffaelli, under their steady guidance he learned the crafts of screen writing, story boarding and editing. After his studies in scenography at the Roman Academy of Fine Arts, in film direction at Angelicum University – C.I.S.O.P., and tv advertising under the tutelage of Director Angelo d’Alessandro at MIF, Manuel began work at Teatro Eliseo in Rome as Assistant Director to Michele Placido, Giuliana De Sio, Rossella Falk, Patrick Guinand, Teodoro Cassano, Enrico Maria La Manna. Then he finally made his debut as a director with a play produced by Francesco Bellomo at Teatro Manzoni in Rome. Determined to finish his theatrical experience, having mastered the art of directing actors, at age of 25 he focused on his only true interest: film direction.
After directing a series of project in Congo and an unforgettable experience on George Lucas’ “Star Wars” set in Caserta, Manuel realized that the fundamental importance of media is to convey truth and beauty. He then went on to direct documentaries, ads, and music videos, traveling extensively throughout the world. As a professor at the University of the Holy Cross in Rome, Manuel taught for five years “Film direction and editing”. For the past four years, he has been writing and selling scripts for feature films. He has lately been working with the mexican “New land films” and the italian “Dog’s life”.
